Beacon Insulation was founded October 21, 2007 by owners Bryan & Claire Northcutt. The forming of the company came as a result of much prayer and an excellent opportunity for the Northcutt's. With a background in building science, Claire had many years of formal training and a number of years as a project manager and estimator in the construction field. Claire was then offered an opportunity to open a Lee County (Alabama) division for an existing insulator. This allowed her the opportunity to learn the insulation business from a company who had been in business for over 40 years.
When presented the option, Bryan and Claire chose to buy this company out and continue operations under their own company, Beacon Insulation. As the business began to grow, Bryan left his job as a teacher at a local school to run the day to day operations of the company.
Beacon Insulation grew into a full service insulation company by 2010. There was no job too big or too small for the company. This became problematic over time because the diversification stretched the company too thin and changes were in order. So Bryan and Claire chose to shrink the business and focus more on the energy efficiency needs of existing homes. We have developed a simple, cost effective system to weatherize your home without purchasing services that are unnecessary.
In 2013, the Northcutt's moved to Bryan's hometown of Fort Payne, AL and brought the business with them. They now service all areas within 60-75 miles of Fort Payne. This would include Huntsville, Chattanooga, Gadsden and Rome, GA.
Bryan was born and raised in Fort Payne and has been back there since 2013. He graduated high school and moved to Auburn to go to school and play football for the Tigers as a back up place kicker. Upon graduation from Auburn, he spent the next 10 years as a math teacher and coach at nearby Opelika High School.
As a member of First Baptist Church of Opelika, Bryan served as a worship leader in the church's contemporary service. This is where he met and fell in love with Claire. The 2 were married in 2005 and now have 5 beautiful children they are raising in Fort Payne.
Born in Gadsden, Alabama, Claire was raised in a home of homebuilders. She was on jobsites at the age of five and always has some sort of responsibility to help in her families' business. As a junior in high school, she went to work for Turner Universal Construction as their youngest co-op student. During high school she became interested in math & design and received a 5-yr. Presidential Scholarship to study architecture at Pratt Art Institute in NYC.
Through the direction of her parents and her experiences in construction, Claire decided to get a double major in Building Science. She moved to Auburn in 2002 to finish her education. Claire has worked for various residential and commercial construction companies. After the birth of their first child, Claire moved her focus to raising children but is now becoming more active in the day to days of Beacon Insulation.
